Teachers are considered as the torch bearers for next generation. They help in shaping up young mindsets so that they can become ‘Leaders of tomorrow’. We can’t thank them enough for their immense support and guidance they have provided to every student. This article is dedicated to our beloved teachers or ‘’gurus’’ on this auspicious occasion of teachers’ day

Indian cinema has put its best foot forward in showing their gratitude towards teachers by showcasing the teacher-student bond. Some of them are listed below :

Taree Zameen par

Aamir Khan’s directorial debut; starring him and Darsheel Safari, the film highlights how a teacher helps in finding the true potential of a child who was suffering from dyslexia and also brought into the light the loopholes of education system

Iqbal

The films talk about how a retired cricketer turned alcoholic helps a deaf and dumb boy Iqbal, a farmer’s son to realize his aim of being a cricketer despite various obstacles. Shreyas Talpade played the role of Iqbal while Naseeruddin Shah was cast in the role of Iqbal’s coach.

Black

Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed the movie for which both the lead actors(Rani Mukherjee and Amitabh Bachchan) won National awards.  The film was inspired by Helen Keller’s life story where Rani plays the role of a blind deaf and mute girl who is taught to read by her mentor despite her disabilities and become a college graduate.

3 Idiots

This film shows how students face the situation of peer pressure of meeting parents and teachers expectations and how Rancho(Amir Khan)  succeeds in changing the narrow mentality of a teacher that it’s pre-decided what a boy and a girl will be pursuing in future.

Chak De India!

This movie is considered as one of the milestones in Hindi film industry. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead where he is a true patriot and a sportsperson wishes to win a gold medal for his country but when he fails doing so, then he decides to coach the Indian national women’s hockey team so that his dream can come true through them.

Our Take

These were some of the few inspirational and motivational movies that focused on making us realize the importance of teachers in our lives and in our society. I wish all the teachers a very happy teachers day. Keep guiding and encouraging us to do better in life!

    The bond which a teacher shares with his/her students does have a strong impact on the child’s intellect. So a teacher should genuinely try to make it the best of his capabilities
